Waardenburg's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old New Zealand forward Samuel Waardenburg (208-F-1999) had a great game in the last week for second-ranked Indios de Mayaguez and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 24.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Aguada (#6, 9-17) 98-92. Indios maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Puerto Rican league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mayaguez will need more victories to improve their 16-11 record. In the team's last game Waardenburg had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Indios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Samuel Waardenburg averages this season 17.3ppg and 7.5rpg.

Second best performed player last week was Ismael Cruz (190-SG-2000) of Osos de Manati. He is international guard in his first season at Manati. In the last game Cruz recorded an impressive 28 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Osos was edged by the higher-ranked Santurce (#2, 17-10) 105-103. Manati managed to keep the same 6th spot in Group B. 23 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Osos managed to get this year. Cruz is one of the most experienced players at Manati and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#3). He also recorded 4.4 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Manati's star - Cheick Diallo (206-C/F-1996). Diallo scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Diallo's great performance the Osos de Manati lost 103-105 to the higher-ranked Santurce (#2, 17-10). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Osos can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group B. They have rather bad season and 4-23 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Diallo has individually a great season in Puerto Rico. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.3rpg (7th best).

9. Stephen Thompson Jr. (194-G-1997) of Bayamon - 30 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Chris Duarte (197-G/F-1997) of Bayamon - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
